As always, I encourage you to explore this application as we move throughout the course, so if I say something that peaks your interest then please, go ahead and pause the movie, fire up Inkscape and just start messing around. And last, but not least, we should try to have as much fun as we possibly can throughout this course. While the main audience of this course is someone who may not have had any prior experience with Inkscape, people with some experience may benefit from the tips and tricks that are included throughout the course.
So, as we work through those different projects we will see the different tools and interface elements that we need to know about in order to use Inkscape. We'll be building a diagram, an icon, a logo, and a flyer. Now we will be creating four different projects throughout this course. The overall purpose of this course is to get you up to speed using one of the most powerful Open Source Vector programs available and to that end we will provide an overview of what Inkscape is all about as well as exploring the interface and tools of Inkscape in the process of providing projects that require the use of those interface and tools available through Inkscape. This course will walk through many aspects of how to use Inkscape from basic operations to more advanced techniques. We are going to have a lot of fun exploring the capabilities of Inkscape and what Inkscape makes possible.
